Well then you would be correct.  Todays vehicles are designed to keep you safe in an accident by channeling the energy from the impact around the cabin of the vehicle and away from the passengers.  This is accomplished by “collapse or crush zones” contrasted with safety cabins made of a variety of  ultra-high strength steels.  Look at this crash test consisting of a 1959 vehicle vs a 2009.
